After Dark

It started innocently enough, with the kind of chemistry you notice before either person says a word about it. The looks lasted a little longer than they should have, the smiles felt more intentional, and there was this undeniable tension between us that seemed to grow every time we got closer. We spent the evening talking, laughing, teasing each other, and pretending we weren’t both aware of what was happening. Every little touch felt different.
