I have to say my first time was unexpected. I had moved to San Francisco after high school and moved to the Castro Dist. no knowing it was a gay area. I realized soon that a lot of my neighbors where gay. I was not old enough to get into bars legally but one Saturday evening I went up the street several blocks to a small bar and figured to try my luck. I went in and sat at the bar. The bar tender eyed me and came over, and I expected to be asked for ID but he asked what i would like. I ordered a beer and sat there.
I was there for a few minutes before I looked around, and I realized that all the people that were in the bar and booths were middle aged or older guys.I looked at several booths and one caught my eye. There was middle aged guys looking at me and seemed to be looking. I turned back to face the bar and sat. In a few minutes I was almost done and was going to leave when I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was the guy from the booth. He asked if they could buy me a beer and join him. I was conflicted but said okay. He grabbed the beers and I followed him to the booth. I slid in and he introduced himself . I could see he was in their 50's or so t-shirt and blue jeans.
He asked if I lived in the area and was this my first time in. I made small talk with them and being football season made comment about the 9ers. We talked for quite a while before it came up. They asked me if I was gay. I felt a cold sweat come over me and my heart started to race. They said it was okay if not but that they would like to leave and asked if I would go with them. I said I was straight and had had girlfriends and they both smiled.
